To all 30 year old women, what are you asking for Xmas?

So I keep getting asked what I want for Xmas and I just have no clue! What are you ladies looking forward to getting? I'm already getting pjs, slippers, candles, DVDs and books what's left?! Smile

My dh and I are paying for each other to go in a trip in January,
Other than that I'll be happy with a few thoughtful wrap me ups

What's wrong with candles and bubble bath, may be Tesco value isn't much of a treat but an expensive candle I wouldn't buy myself is a nice present.

I'd like l'occitane stuff, perfume, penguin leather editions of my favourite books, cross stitch kits, nice alcohol, and candles!

A vase worth a tenner from my MIL (because I don't want her to spend to much, so it's easier to say:I like that, than tell her to buy something cheap). Shopping bags for my bicycle from DH (we're dutch, I want to do my grocery shopping by bicycle). We are moving in January so I don't want to get a whole lot of stuff that will sit in a box for months till I get round to unpacking it.

explodingkitten · 25/11/2018 09:25

I'm 39 though...

SoyDora · 25/11/2018 09:26

I’m 34 so am I too old to be relevant?

Jeffers3 · 25/11/2018 09:34

There’s nothing I want this year and I keep telling my family not to worry but they are REALLY big on Xmas and so I’ve asked for things that I wouldn’t buy myself, like a White Company candle, some posh watercolour brushes, a decent frying pan!

Me and OH are going to NYC in the run up to Xmas so will buy each other something from there and I have just treated myself to an All Saints bag which I couldn’t be happier with.

DonaldDucksTowel · 25/11/2018 10:20

Me and DP don’t buy each other presents, we’ve got too many kids

My Mum likes to buy me presents that are just for me though so this year I need -
A new bra (I only have 1 and it doesn’t fit 🤦🏻‍♀️)
Mascara
Pyjamas
Then she usually buys me a bottle of perfume and some chocolates and wine too

GoneWishing · 25/11/2018 10:21

The idea that candles and bubble bath are
considered a treat for adult women makes me unaccountably sad.

Why though? Isn't it a good thing to find yourself in a place where you realise you don't want or need extra stuff, and find enjoyment in small things?

Flutternotsoshy · 25/11/2018 10:39

I'm 34, and I've asked for a new kindle from my parents (something I don't "need" as can use my phone so wouldn't buy for myself but would love to have)
My partner is getting me an echo dot , and another techy thing I want.
I'll get pjs from DD.
There may be a few other nice bits in there, mainly stuff I want but haven't been able to afford this year cos money's been tight.

For us Christmas gifts are normally stuff you'd like but wouldn't normally buy yourself as they're wanted not needed.

Soiree · 25/11/2018 17:00

**I just don't really understand why it's enjoyable in any way, but whatever floats your boat

What sort of thing do you like getting?

PeachCokeZero Is it really that difficult to understand that different people like different things? Confused I don't get why that's such a hard concept for some.

Not me as I'm far too old, but a 32 year old I know is having lots of rock climbing gear. Probably not to everyone's taste though Grin

Soiree · 25/11/2018 19:44

Booze and books, sounds good.

Lego.

MotherWol · 25/11/2018 19:51

36; I’d like nice gin, chocolate, nice soap, a few bits of gym gear, some books. Nothing complicated or show-stopping, but there isn’t much I need or want. I’ve said this to DH and my family but I expect I’ll still get a bunch of stuff I’m not that fussed about, and a telling off for being ‘hard to buy for’ Hmm

AnythingConsidered · 25/11/2018 19:57

A NFL American Football Jaguars Jersey (women fit), a pair of slippers and cinema vouchers!

BitchQueen90 · 25/11/2018 19:59

PeachCokeZero yes I did but people are replying with what they are getting for Christmas. OP asked a question and people are just responding. Not sure why that's "sad" if it's what people enjoy.

MinecraftHolmes · 25/11/2018 20:03

I'm 29 (and SAHM to 2 DC under 6, to give an idea of lifestyle) and I've asked for:
Slippers, nice consumables (e.g. chocolate, booze), Bare Minerals face stuff, a couple of paperbacks, perfume and Let's Go Pikachu (which is what I'm most excited about because I know my parents are getting me that) Grin

Mooey89 · 25/11/2018 20:07

30 in March.
As a couple we’re getting a new armchair from my parents...

From DH I’m not sure, I’d like a new book and top up on the skin care I wouldn’t buy myself, perhaps some make up, I’ve got my eye on some becca highlighters

Cahira · 25/11/2018 20:09

I'm 32 and I like getting vouchers for different restaurants so me and DP actually have an excuse to enjoy child free nights out 😂

We both work full time and weekends can be pretty full on trying to do family things/life admin etc so it's nice to have a chance to get out on our own occasionally. I have no need for other stuff.
