Name change for this :
In my late teens I had an eating disorder.
I went to my male doctor ( with my mum ) and he said “ you do this because you are a virgin and you are simulating sex “

Any one else had people say you do X because of a bizarre reason?

Did he explain what he meant?!

My mother told me I have trichotillomania because I want to make her angryHmm

I'm trying to make sense of what your GP said but I'm struggling. Unless your eating disorder was shagging vegetables or something.

My dad said my cousin was only gay to annoy his parents.

(It's been 16 years now, he's still gay and his parents are still not annoyed. Perhaps I'll have a word at Christmas and suggest he finds a different way to piss them off).

When I was a depressed teenager and self-harming, my dad, who is an evangelical Christian, told me I was doing it because I had let demons into my life by listening to Nirvana.

Partner told me I read the news because I love negative energy and thrive off it.

GP meant that the act of putting my fingers down my throat was simulating sex .
All I needed to do was to go out and have sex !
It was the mid 80s . Different times.
