Does Anyone think they have some type of personality disorder?

I think I have issues basically. As a child I was odd and obsessive. I lived in my own world and used to try on different personalities. I'm still like that now. I worry about everything and obsess. I have a person facing job and I can act a certain way but I struggle. I'm terrified of confrontation and will go round in huge circles often putting myself out massively. I think I have some type of personality issue

I think if you analysed anyone enough we would all have some sort or personality disorder or mental illness.

Ask the doctor to refer you for an assessment if you are worried and some CBT. It can be helpful to be assessed - help you understand yourself better. Good luck.

Have a read up on ASD in women, OP.

My GP told me once that everyone has characteristics of personality disorders (because we have personalities...) and it's really a spectrum rather than a black and white diagnosis. I tick some of the diagnostic criteria for several personality disorders (primarily BPD and OCPD) but not all and, to be honest, that's just who I am.

You sound exactly like me OP, I dont think anyone knows the 'real me', I'm not really sure I do either...its bloody exhausting!

NoelleBelle · 25/11/2018 20:46

I don't think I have ASD. I think I'm obsessive but not on the autistic spectrum

I have bpd. And apparently its a spectrum.

NoelleBelle · 25/11/2018 20:48

Sounds like anxiety.

Wordthe · 25/11/2018 20:59

It's possible to have issues that would benefit from doing work on yourself or therapy without having a pathology

I think bunnybigears has it spot on

Someone in my family was a criminal psychologist who repeatedly said this

Willy49 probably more than you!

NoelleBelle · 25/11/2018 22:05

Why is that relevant Willy?

What Bunny said. Personality disorders = personality. And it's about time we got over this current obsession with labelling everyone and putting them into nice neat little boxes.
