London Theatre Advice Please

I'm looking to go to London with DM, not sure when yet, and we would like to go to the theatre but neither of us have any preferences over what to see so I was thinking of going to the kiosk in Leicester Square (that's the right/best place isn't it?) for some cheaper tickets and just going for what is reasonable price for reasonable seats

What time is best to do this?

Also, I'm looking at taking her for 2 nights, so we could do theatre 2 nights and 1 afternoon (depending what time we plan to leave), can you book for the next day or is it better to leave it if nothing takes our fancy or too expensive for that evening and go back to see what they have on the second day for the second evening?

I think it opens at 10 am? Earlier the better. I don't know if they sell tickets for following day - it will probably depend on each theatres policy.

The TKTS booth usually list same day and next day availability online but these get revised. There is often a queue by mid morning. Alternatively pick a show and try to get same day tickets from 10/10:30 by queuing at the box office.

If you're not bothered about what show you see why not try entering the theatre lotteries for the shows that run them?
It's as per the name - you put your email address in a week/fortnight/day before (varies) then if you 'win' you get the chance to buy the best seats available for the price of the cheapest. I did it and got £70 tickets for £20 for a friday night.
If you don't win you haven't lost anything and can still go to the TKTS booth.
