Is a 10yo too old for a Nintendo DS?

The Switch is totally unaffordable for us....but would DS10 be very disappointed after a few months with a DS instead? He reckons he'd like one, but I think he just thinks it'll be similar to a Switch...
He has an Xbox so this would be more personal/individual use.

They are so much cheaper, but I don't want it to gather dust after a month or two....any thoughts?

DH and I are in our 30s and enjoy using our DS (ours, not the kids, although we let them at it sometimes), MIL in her 60s loves hers.

So I wouldn’t think 10 is too old, there’s a good variety of games to cover differing interests and abilities. Not sure if it’s fashionable with 10 year olds however. When I was one Gameboys were very desirable though.

I still play with mine occasionally- bought it 13 years ago when I was 8!

My 16 year old likes their 3DS, they have an Xbox they never use and a psp which rarely gets used but they love playing Animal leaf Crossing on the DS.
