How long do your jeans last?

I was wondering if it was just me, but I bought a pair of high waist jeans from tesco and they quickly became my favourite jeans so almost daily wear and washing when needed. But after only a year they've got two holes in the crotch area. I'm going to ask my mother to mend them for me when I go back.

I've completed a one year no new clothes challenge so just wondering if I should break it now Are the more pricey brands really worth it or do they wear out the same?

I've switched to plain jogging pants in the meanwhile which I've had for more than 5 years and they're still going strong.has anyone else just stopped buying jeans too?

I had the same with a pair from top shop so don't think the price is worth it.
For what is worth I've just found Stratavardis and Pull and Bear jeans to be SO comfy and look great and are cheap! I will never buy jeans from RIver island or top shop again!

I wear mine years but have a few pairs so they get alternated. They're a mix of Primark and TopShop (I quite like the TopShop ones but only buy them when they're on sale).

This happens to all my jeans, and I've tried many different brands from designer to supermarket. I now buy multiple pairs of the same cheap jeans (Next £20) and replace frequently.

If you have worn them nearly 365 times that doesn't sound like a bad deal on price per wear!

Good point Vivaldi

Like pp, I was going to say I've never had jeans wear out that quickly, but I'm a person who has quite a lot of clothes and then a alternate what I wear. Can't imagine wearing the same thing all the time. So the "number of wears for the price" would probably end up being the same.

Don't use softener on jeans

halfwitpicker · 23/11/2018 20:20

I've had jeans for years. Like, 15 years. Mine never wear out.

Cherries101 · 23/11/2018 20:20

These probably aren’t proper denim jeans with zero stretch right?

purplemunkey · 23/11/2018 20:30

I always buy Levis which can be quite pricey, though you can get good deals in their sales. I like the range of rises you can get plus being able to choose the waist and length combination. Most standard high street regular/petite options just don't work for me. Mine last years.

Lellochip · 23/11/2018 21:23

My last few pairs have been wearing out in between my thighs within months... I should probably a) stop buying cheap jeans b) lose some weight 😅

anitagreen · 23/11/2018 21:28

I think I have a flame Fanny because the crotch area always bursts open or gets thin around there, I've tried Miss Selfridge, £48. Topshop £40 , primark £12 and my favourite pair came from new look for £18

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 23/11/2018 21:31

Usually 6 months to a year Sad.

Nearthebig40 · 23/11/2018 21:34

Who knew wearing was a thing... mine al last forever... weird

junebirthdaygirl · 23/11/2018 21:57

Mine last for years. Don't always fit as l lose and gain weight . But l keep them and pop back into them again and again. I throw them in the dyer and generally am not careful.
But l have lots of pairs.
Wearing a cheap pair from Tesco every day means they are bound to wear out. Next time you find a pair you love pop back in and buy a few and rotate them.
