Am I starting labour

I am guessing this is super early days. But just wanted reassurance from those with experience ( being this is my first )
I believe I lost some of my plug Sunday just gone. I have had bad back since ( constant pain ) and last two days on off period pains. This morning I woke up with more waves of pain linking from my lower back to lower tummy, and occasional stabbing sensation running from cervix to bottom.
The wave of pain which builds up peaks and then releases is coming irregular but at least every 15 mins ( but as I don’t think I am dying i am guessing this is baby contractions ?)
I have had blood in my mucus ( which is not the same as a period for me but something I am keeping an eye on... but read this is poss my cervix dilating as blood vessels can burst ( no pure blood on own coming out)

Does this all sound normal? 😬

Sounds very normal and the start of labour. Good luck!

When I say baby contractions I mean not the real deal but maybe the start?

Thanks in advance whoever reads this.

Baby is moving around at moment which is nice ( blood has worried me a little )

You are certainly in the beginning stages.

Eat everything you can and want to now, fuel up! It gets exhausting!

birdling · 23/11/2018 07:15

Definitely sounds like the beginning of labour! If it's blood streaks in the mucus, that's completely normal. If you start actually dribbling blood, call the delivery suite. If you start gushing blood, call an ambulance! Pains could develop quickly, or this could go on for days. Either way, best of luck! Grin

It does sound like very early labour! Good luck!!!!! The pains will slowly get more intense, then you should start timing them.

Middlrm · 23/11/2018 07:23

Thank you all birdling:- I would say the mucus is completely bloody but I am not dribbling blood either.

Fingers crossed for a short labour x x

Hi all, to be honest it escalated pretty fast. I started to get stronger waves around 11am and was fully dilated by 2:30 , just about made it to hospital in which they thought they were gonna send me home when my waters went and they realised it was time to push. Thank you all for the reassurance with the bloody show ... I actually was going to hospital just to check that out as it was constant ... but turns out that’s because I was dilating so fast x x so happy to be watching my boy sleep ( seems I can’t because he is too quiet or too noisey ) guess i am officially gonna worry about this chap forever ❤️❤️
