I am going into hospital next week to have an attempt at removing a bowel polyp which wil involve a short stay (until I have achieved a successful bowel movement...joy!). What do you advise me to take in with in me or do in preparation. ANY advice welcome. Thanks.

Phone, charger, nice night clothes, robe, sweatshirt/ tee/tracky bottoms (loungy clothes) moisturizer, book, hairbrush, spare pants, wipes. That's my capsule hospital bag.

Mind you, DH had his polyps removed during a colonoscopy. Only took a couple of hours. I had foof polyps, took 5 minutes.

What marvellous said, plus tablet/ereader or good long book.
(If tablet download some shows on Netflix or iPlayer and bring headphones)
Ear plugs if you need to sleep. Hospitals are noisy!
Snacks if you're allowed them cos hospital food can be hit and miss.

Cheap flip flops for the shower! I also recommend earplugs but also an eye mask as hospitals are light as well as noisy.

Thank you for these. My fabulous polyp is suspect and couldn’t be removed at any of the lead-up procedures. It’s photo portfolio is bigger than mine.

Charger...will get one!
Flip flops...got some in my swimming bag
@marvellous...thank you for your list.

Thanks everyone.
