Slow cooker timing help please!

Hello. I’m new to the slow cooker.

I put a sausage casserole on at 12.30pm. The recipe said 6-8 hours on low. I need it for 5.30pm so put the slow cooker on medium. Will it be ready after 5 hours on medium?

TIA. I live in fear of giving my family food poisoning!

I cut my sausages in half (make them stubby not long and thin!) and put on high in your situation. They’ll cool no prob.

COOK!! not cool sorry

Well it’s already been on for 4.5 hours on medium. Should I turn it up to high for the last half hour?

Sorry didn’t mean to add that kiss I’m texting as well as mumsnetting !

Yes I would turn to high ,
If I do sausage casserole I usually do 9 hours on low ( 8am until 5ish )
I’m sure it will be delicious and absolutely fine

if I remember rightly my slow cooker timings are low 6-8 hours, medium 4-6 Hours and high 2 to 3 hours. So you should be ok but switch it up if you're unsure. As long as the sausages are got and there is no pink you should be ok.

Crinkle77 · 22/11/2018 17:30

Hot not got. Stupid autocorrect.

Thanks everyone. I’m determined to use this bloody thing after it’s sat in a cupboard for a year!
