My 11 year old son takes ages to get to sleep at night, Is lying all the time and has for ages Ive tried punishment for lying I've explained that even if he's done something wrong he must tell the truth and I will be happier for him to do something wrong and tell the truth instead of lying he will lye about everything - brushing teeth, going in the fridge and helping himself, even when he's presented with us showing him something he's obviously lie about he will still deny it. Its making life difficult for our family as he want more freedom like his friends but i feel i just can't trust him i want to believe him i really do. Nothing ever his fault. He has been disruptive in class this week not following instruction and being disrespectful to a teacher and tbh he isn't being respectful at home. We have explained to him that we care about him and we want him to be a happy decent respectful person but we cannot condone his behaviour. It make a difference for a day or so then he just reverts back. Kicking off if he has to go somewhere he doesn't want to etc etc its just becoming so stressful and upsetting for the rest of the family its feels like its a constant battle. Any suggestions gratefully received.
