When do you usually find out about Christmas plays?

DS first year in Reception. Term ends 21/12 and their Christmas "Service" is scheduled for 14/12.

I'm assuming we must hear something soon about parts etc?

The first I heard is that they were doing a nativity play Friday last week. We don't know any details at all though. Mine is in reception too.

Usually two weeks or so. They've given you the date already which is good. My dcs schools have always provided costumes so I haven't had to worry about sorting that out.

The date has been emblazoned on the school calendar since the beginning of time term.

Their tree is going up at school next week I think so perhaps once they've introduced the festivities to the children more info will filter through.

At primary when DD was in reception we'd get about a week's notice. Which was always convenient, of course! To be fair, they provided the costumes so I didn't have to suddenly produce a sheep outfit.

I'm wondering what variation we will have. It's a CofE school and has 120 kids in reception alone... Time to tap a mum with elder child for info I think...

I miss the nativity plays now mine are oldr. Mine were always animals. Mainly sheep. They wore masks so could it have been any kid Grin. I still cried buckets though Blush

Mine are in year 1 and 2, the date for the performances is on the calendar and they have just been told what the play is but they haven’t been given parts yet. Am assuming I’ll know what sort of outfits I’ll have to create by the end of next week!

Hurrah... Apparently we don't really get told anything - we just have to show up. Costumes provided by the school. Kids either given a part or put in the choir.
