Are these offensive?

Captions from teenagers instagram photos.

Went blind from using the flash
Nobody likes a pale Pete
this is my alter ego, she's responsible for last night
How can both my ribs and my stomach stick out at the same time?

Do you find any of these offensive? And would you ask for them to be changed if it was your child?

No they’re perfectly normal. It would be v weird to ask the teenager to change them.

knockknockknock · 22/11/2018 11:48

Personally I don't find them at all offensive, but it depends on the context they were used in. If a teenager is describing themselves as a pale Pete it's very different to to them mocking someone else.

vandrew4 · 22/11/2018 11:48

I've no idea what you're on about but for the record I also have no idea why any of that would possibly be offensive?
I assume you're looking for something to be offended by?

Breakyourselfagainstmystones · 22/11/2018 11:49

I don't think they are offensive at all. Totally normal. Why would you ask her to delete?

SylviaAndSidney · 22/11/2018 11:52

Erm, no..

Blankexpression · 22/11/2018 11:53

I don't find any of them offensive.
Our family whatsapp group has decided that I should be horrified and force dd to remove them immediately.

MarklahMarklah · 22/11/2018 11:54

No. And no. But I'd probably point out the spelling mistake as I'm a cow.

Justmuddlingalong · 22/11/2018 11:54

Your family seem easily offended.

user187656748 · 22/11/2018 11:56

where's the spelling mistake?

SnuggyBuggy · 22/11/2018 11:57

I wouldn't have high expectations for teenagers on Instagram

SylviaAndSidney · 22/11/2018 12:00

I can’t see any spelling mistake?

Clawdy · 22/11/2018 12:01

Spelling mistake? Where?

SillySallySingsSongs · 22/11/2018 12:05

Depends if it is about themselves or they are making fun of someone else I guess.

TheFuckfaceWhisperer · 22/11/2018 12:05

Also can't see a spelling mistake

TheDogAteMySock · 22/11/2018 12:06

I can't see the spelling mistake either.

Blankexpression · 22/11/2018 12:07

The comments were all about her so she wasnt trying to mock anyone else.
Family seem to think she is mocking blind people, pale people, mentally ill people and fat/skinny people.

OP posts:
Justmuddlingalong · 22/11/2018 12:09

Can she change her privacy settings so that that can't see her posts?

Halfahunnerstillastunner · 22/11/2018 12:15

I've read and reread the captions and can't see a spelling mistake? Confused

Anyway, totally normal teenage stuff and your family needs to get a grip.

MarklahMarklah · 22/11/2018 12:40

Sorry, my mistake - no spelling mistake - was reading something else at the same time and got mixed up.

kenandbarbie · 22/11/2018 12:52

I don't think you can tell her what to write at all anyway. All you can do is explain it never goes away and how some people might interpret things, then it's up to her. I would get her to change the privacy settings. I bet these are your siblings who don't have children yet who are complaining are they?

Ecofluffynanny · 22/11/2018 13:16

Your family are strange OP. Tell them to wind it in!

🙄

firsttimebabybirther · 22/11/2018 13:24

Oh ffs , no she's being a teenager and putting out some quirky captions. I hope they aren't on instagram , they probably wouldn't sleep at night if they seen half of the things on there that are actually offensiveGrin

EnidButton · 22/11/2018 13:32

Ken Being a dick has nothing to do with having kids or not. Clearly.

EnidButton · 22/11/2018 13:34

Meant to be a mfriendly winky face there. Wink

OP none of those things are remotely offensive.

PhilomenaButterfly · 22/11/2018 13:37

Absolutely nothing offensive. Your family's weird.
