Menstrual pain

Hi I'm 22 and I experience severe menstrual pain and heavy flow, I have tried paracetamol and I have also tried ibuprofen

Then you need to speak to your GP or a pharmacist. There are other things you can try but these need to be prescribed.

I'm taking it this isn't normal for you? How heavy? If you're soaking a pad an hour or less call your GPs & ask to talk to a Doctor (either on the phone or in person). A warm bath or hot water bottle will help with the cramps. A GP will be able to prescribe you stronger pain medication too or a Pharmacist might be able to recommend something OTC.

If you're periods are extremely painful and you have very heavy flow it is worth a chat with your GP to rule out endometriosis. My SIL has it and it started like yours and took years to diagnose and she's now struggling with fertility.
Apart from the above I find codeine helps with bad period pains but you have to be careful as it's extremely addictive. You shouldn't take them any longer than 3 days. Your pharmacist could advise more on it.

Your GP can prescribe things like mefenamic acid and tranexamic acid.
