offer on house?

Looking to put an offer on a house soon, its up for 195k.
We're first time buyers, ready to buy and for it to be a quick sale, its a chain free house too.
I know without knowing what the house looks like, but its a 2 bed, big rooms, needs some updating, big garden and garage. How much would you start off at for an offer? we don't want to go too low that we annoy the seller, but then to high..
Just wondering how much you knocked off the asking price when you bought your house?

Ours was a reposession purchase when the market crashed. Marked at 90k. We offered 80 or 82 but our offer was accepted when we re-offered at 85.

thank you, we were going to go in with offer at 175 to start with then work from there..
