my daughter is 16 and is a wonderful girl. she used to live with dad but has come to live with me.

my daughter came out to me as bi sexual when she was 13 years old. although a little shocked i excepted that she was who she was. when she came out to her dad a year later hes exact respose was ‘if your still that way at 18 ill except it’ so she told him no more. just over a year ago she imformed me that she was infact gender fluid and no longer idenifies as female. again shocked but i accepted her as she was. she is now 16 and has broken my heart by telling me she wishes to change her name from her ‘girlie name’ to a gender nutural name.

i accept my children no matter what. i would never tell them not to be who they are and will not let on that it hurts she wants to change her name but i really needed to let it out somewhere

thanks for reading

Thanks tough batman. I hope you can both find a way through these new waters.

You and your daughter are both going through a very challenging time. Just love her. She's still the same person, no matter how she wants to identify herself.
