So, why are there condoms hidden in my kitchen drawer?

A new unopened pack, well in date.

In the household we have DH and two teenage DSs,but I can't for the life of me think why they'd be in the kitchen, regardless of who they belong to.

Right at the back of the miscellaneous drawer. You know, the one with batteries, odd keys, rubberbands and various things that might come in useful one day. It's not a drawer I go in often but it's possible I could look in it on any given day so not a very good hiding place.

If I ask , I'm not going to get a straight answer. Boys will both be v embarrassed and deny all knowledge. DH is only likely to own up if there's a legitimate reason and although I have no reason to suspect anything, I can't think of a good reason.

Probably one of the kids and they threw them in there as someone came in and disturbed them.

H1dingInSight · 21/11/2018 20:01

Do you and DH use condoms?

Badwifey · 21/11/2018 20:04

Maybe your husband left them there for the boys if ever they needed them? Or is that something you would have decided together? It could be a father son thing.

DevonshireCreamTea · 21/11/2018 20:04

Your DH
Your sons would keep them in their bedroom for sure

Bestseller · 21/11/2018 20:06

I wondered that Badwifey, but I nag remind him so often to make sure they have what they need that I think he'd have told me just to shut me up!

Yes, we do H1ding

If it was your DH putting the condoms in the kitchen drawer, then the book of postage stamps is in your bedroom!

HighwayDragon1 · 21/11/2018 20:49

Was he putting the shopping away when a teenager walks into the room so bunged them in the closest draw?

halfwitpicker · 21/11/2018 20:53

Well he obviously thought you wouldn't check there....

Usual brand?

halfwitpicker · 21/11/2018 20:53

Teenage DS - condom using age?

Shadow1986 · 21/11/2018 20:56

Do you have your shopping delivered (inc condoms?) maybe DH was unpacking shopping and chucked them in the drawer instead of taking straight upstairs, they’ve been there a while and been pushed to the back so it may have been a while ago. I’d just ask your DH.

Bestseller · 21/11/2018 20:58

Yes, usual brand. He knows I've looked as I needed batteries for the remote control and it didnt seem to cause him any concern.

DSs 17 & 15, so yes, although there's no sign of girlfriends, it's entirely possible.

Drawer is a bottom one, the least accessible and they were in the back corner underneath stuff so I think they'd been deliberately hidden rather than shoved there in a panic

Perhaps your DH has left them there in the hopes of a shag over the kitchen table?

Badwifey · 22/11/2018 12:04

Did you ask op?

AamdC · 22/11/2018 12:53

I found myself just abour to throw some rubbish in the washing machine and washing in the rybbish the other day could it be something like that?

explodingkitten · 22/11/2018 13:04

It's easier to get them from there because it's a thing drawer so you can openly rummage through it, take one and go meet your teenage girlfriend. (Guess who I suspect). If someone asks you're looking for.l a stapler or rubber bands or whatever.

NorthernKnickers · 22/11/2018 13:12

I may have missed something here, but...you and DH use condoms, these are your usual brand...so 🤷‍♀️. I'm failing to see the issue...apologies if it's glaringly obvious 🤦‍♀️

Sitranced · 22/11/2018 13:14

Yeah I'm struggling to see how this would be so random if you and DH use condoms.

Kittykat93 · 22/11/2018 13:19

Also a bit confused as to what the mystery is. You and your husband use this particular brand of condoms, he knows you have been going into that drawer and hasn't been acting suspiciously. Just ask ?!?!?! Doesn't sound like anything dodgy to me and I'm usually quite suspicious.

FitzChivalryFarseer · 22/11/2018 13:27

My DH orders them off Amazon. I can easily imagine him opening a parcel, then shoving them in a drawer where they won’t immediately be stumbled across if one of our DS suddenly came in. Easy to pretend you are looking for something at the back as you stuff the box under something else.

IndigoSpritz · 22/11/2018 13:43

In case the carrots and cucumbers feel the urge.

HerestoyouMrsRobinson · 22/11/2018 14:38

It's possible your DS has a boyfriend?
