I bought 2 large sausage, small chips plus gravy and curry sauce separately.

This is a small chips. Normal fork for scale. No one who has been before ever buys a large chips

That would feed a family of 5 lol!

PinkHeart5914 · 21/11/2018 19:48

Wow! You lucky thing the chippie here a small chips is very small, like unless you are a borrower it’s not touching the sides

Grumpbum123 · 21/11/2018 19:50

This is like our chip shop, it’s ridiculous always so much wastage even if we share them between the three of us

JourneyToThePlacentaOfTheEarth · 21/11/2018 19:52

Now I'm hungryAngry

HotdogsareDogs · 21/11/2018 19:52

Those are the chip equivalent of the mumsnet chicken. You can feed a family of 7 on those for 3 months straight. Easy.

Wolfiefan · 21/11/2018 19:55

We had a medium bag of chips between four tonight. Grin

Ploppymoodypants · 21/11/2018 19:56

Brilliant. One of the local chippies is like that here. Fish and chips is about £5.50 and feeds, me, DH and DD (who is only 6). We do have it with bread and beans though from home.
The other chippies have small portions and the chips she like those from a pub, not proper chippy chips. It’s all wrong 😁

KindergartenKop · 21/11/2018 19:59

Eat them for breakfast.

FeckingEjit · 21/11/2018 20:00

I knew you'd be up north OP Grin

Bowchicawowow · 21/11/2018 20:02

I had small fish chips and peas on Saturday. I didn’t quite finish it and felt so full I began to feel ill. God only knows how people manage the medium and jumbo size Shock

HotdogsareDogs · 21/11/2018 20:04

The gravy gave away the North bit, didn't eat.
South people, how much would you have to pay for that?
£6.inc gravy and curry sauce.

Ours is similar - I buy a "mini" fish and chips to share with dh and the dog gets some too - at my parents you get half the amount for a lot more money!

Mynydd · 21/11/2018 20:05

My chippie is like that. Don't freeze them for another day though. It doesn't work Sad

anniehm · 21/11/2018 20:06

It's £2 for chips, £1.50 per sausage and £1 per sauce/gravy here

dontforgetbilly · 21/11/2018 20:10

They appear to have forgotten to batter your sausages....
Nobody could go to the chilly and want them unbattered right?

HotdogsareDogs · 21/11/2018 20:14

Errhh I'm not a massive fan of batter.
I take 2/3 off the fish if I get a fish Blush

TellerTuesday4EVA · 21/11/2018 21:39

Fellow northerner.... I too was going to mention the lack of batter.... you can't get an unbattered sausage from the chippy - that's just wrong!!!

BarbaraofSevillle · 22/11/2018 07:09

Eat them for breakfast

Second this. They work especially well when turned into a chip omelette, which is not weird at all because that's more or less how you make a proper Spanish tortilla - fry the potatoes and then put the beaten eggs in.

If you get fish and chips from any of the chip shops round here the fish is a whale and there are loads of chips so easy enough to feed 2.
