When struggling what do you do?

Having a tough day. When trying to rest earlier I realised everything I've done to try and help me rest in the last has some sort of upset connected to it and right now my mind is automatically going to those bad things.

At the moment things are overwheamlingly difficult.

So. What things help you when the world feels particularly low?

Stop and take a step back. I’ve had a bad day. I should be doing the ironing now. It can wait. My mind needs a rest. I will be more effective for it. I also come up with better ideas for solving problems when I stop and take a step back.

Having a chat to someone else (whose opinion you value, not someone who makes you feel bad) is also a good thing to do.

Also: get an early night if you can. Today was a bad day. Get up early tomorrow if needed to compensate and get stuff done. Tomorrow is another day, and all that.

Ring my mum and cry usually.

If I can't then I read or watch tv to try to blank it out.

I find playing with my cat helps cheer me up as she's so funny.

Playing loud trance music, basically any music that lifts your mood.

Phoning or messaging a friend or close family member for a chat, & a different perspective on your problem.

Exercise- a walk to the shops or a workout at the gym.

A bit of I'm a celeb with a hot cuppa.

Avoid alcohol & unhealthy comfort food as you will feel bad later!

I've suspected sleep apnoea and sleep is like a battleground for me. When I do go off I wake the whole house with my choking! It'll be over a year before I can see anyone about it, what's causing it effects my breathing during the day as well though less than at night (I've an unknown growth). And my GPs attempts to reassure me today after I collapsed in the street didn't work at all as my anxiety and depression are spiralling as my physical health is worsening.

I struggle to walk without pain or injury, that's something I did a lot previously, shopping I try and do but again it's now difficult.

Thankyou for your suggestions..

I used to think of places and people I loved but the people connected with the places are gone and I'm struggling now.

I don't have friends and cannot talk to my family (they're abusive).
