Is it worth paying the extra for an instant pot?

Or are there cheaper versions that are just as good?

If it's better, what makes it worth the extra?

I'm seriously tempted but it's a lot to fork out for me....

Keep an eye out for special offers on Amazon, the price does move up and down a bit. I think it might be tricky to find someone who can compare, because you're not likely to buy two multi-function pressure cookers. I do like my Instant Pot, it's taking a little while to get used to what it's good for and what it's not good for, but it's a nice solid piece of kitchen equipment.

There seems to be a lot of community around the instant pot which other similar cookers don't have, maybe you're partly paying for that? I think I'll get the branded one as I'm not confident adapting recipes if necessary

Thinking of putting one of these on my Christmas list, is there much difference in models and has anybody seen any good offers.

And is it so much better than just a stove top pressure cooker?

I’ve had a stove top pressure cooker for the last 30 odd years, but have upgraded to an Instant Pot. The IP doesn’t need baby-sitting the way my stove top model did - when it comes up to pressure it just gets on with cooking and I don’t have to keep checking on it. (We had a ‘faux-tisserie’ chicken tonight; I browned it on the sauté function, added a cup of water, walked away and left it to do its thing)

Ok, so that does sound good!

Spend a bit more for a real Instant Pot. You won't regret it.
