I do them. But only for my parents, the in-laws, and my brother. Not for our wider circle.

Leeds2 · 20/11/2018 15:55

They always make me grimace, so no, I wouldn't send them. Maybe for grandparents, but I never did.

Sockwomble · 20/11/2018 15:58

I do homemade ones for immediate family only and they only have my child on, not all of us.

LadyPamplemousse · 20/11/2018 15:58

Definitely. I find them so entertaining. The cheesier the better, the more awkward set-up the better!

(Obviously I'd never send one myself)

Sockwomble · 20/11/2018 16:00

Mine aren't cheesy either. Just a photo of child.

TheWickedWitchofWestYorkshire · 20/11/2018 16:03

Yea why not? I wouldn't send a photo of my kids to a work colleague but I only send cards to family and people who actually care about us anyway rather than to all and sundry though.

Toddlerteaplease · 20/11/2018 16:09

My cats send phot cards to their feline cousins .

ProfessionallyUnoffended · 20/11/2018 16:47

Yes, close family only though

RemoteRamona · 20/11/2018 16:49

Yes but only to close family and very close friends. But I have a newborn who I plan on dressing as an elf! Cheesy but adorable. Wouldn't necessarily do it when he was say 5 or 6 though!

smurfy2015 · 20/11/2018 19:58

I do them to send to friends.

I am actually planning on taking the photos tomorrow, I do it myself, Set the background of a black sheet on an armchair, play with the cat till she is nice and relaxed, pop a bit of tinsel around her neck under my constant watch and tease her with another piece while my other hand goes click click click and then check my photos, when I have one good enough, I remove all tinsel and replace with treats for being my model.

My cat is my baby and all my friends "know her" in real life and online, some of them are fur mummies as well. Perfectly acceptable to do this, I generally get a load of photos together and work out how many photo prints I need an approx example for Xmas cards so +20 and get that amount printed,

Same applies for those who send me cards with themselves or in most cases their children on, or something one of the children has drawn printed on the front cover.

Then I get photos I have taken at other times minus the tinsel which will be made into general cards. So by getting a bulk lot of photos printed ready, glue dots and blank cards. Inside the blank cards, I put a poem or whatever just like a real-life greetings card and then leave room to write my message.

So its a YES from me

Justlikedevon · 20/11/2018 20:16

I can't bear it. However, this is because I have a probably ridiculous issue around binning photos of people. If you are sending one to me, please put a note in it to say you'll have the photo back in January, as I never know what to do with them afterwards.

ItchySeveredFoot · 20/11/2018 20:18

Yeah do it. Some people are so miserable. I do them of my kids and send them to family. They love them and look forward to them.

ScreamingValenta · 20/11/2018 20:20

Yes, why not?

FantailsFly · 20/11/2018 20:22

I like them - I'm not on Facebook etc so prob the only pic I'll see of your family year after year.

Maelstrop · 20/11/2018 20:45

Can't stand it. No-one wants pictures of your dc/pets, sorry. Give grandparents a nice framed picture. I will as usual be recycling burning all Christmas cards after New Year. Like a pp, it's hard to burn pictures of DC!

babysharkah · 20/11/2018 20:52

I did when my kids were tiny. Now I can't think of anything worse.

I don't do cards at all now.

Pinkprincess1978 · 20/11/2018 23:07

Yes we have done them and people seemed to like them. I like to receive them too
