NHS staff: How do you choose which union to join?

I'm not sure how to choose which union to join, or how to check which unions I could join. Does anyone happen to know?

Depends on your role I would suggest, what is the largest union in your trust? I work for the NHS and am not in a union, although I definitely would be if I was in a clinical role.
