And the relief I feel from admitting my debt and asking for help is indescribable. Not sure what the next step will be I will get some information in the post and have a phone consultation with an advisor. I know the debt isn't just going to go away but at least I am in control now.

Does anyone know if using Step Change affects your credit rating?

It is a lovely feeling yes, I have no idea about credit ratings etc but my debt is bad so my credit is very poor anyway so not a concern I have.
To others that have used them can I ask what to expect from the service, money is tight so will they work repayments around my budget.
