Recommend your favourite mint chocolates here

I really do like a mint chocolate selection box, but am very unimaginative in my choices, and usually get Bendicks. Last a Christmas I got some mega cheap Thornton’s at an outlet store and thoroughly enjoyed them, too.

Please give me your recommendations, cheap or expensive, I don’t mind

After Eights- all the others are imposters.

I hate mint and chocolate together. It's all wrong.

shortgreengiraffe · 18/11/2018 20:33

Elizabeth Shaw Mints are my all time favourite chocolate. So so good. I want others to buy them to it keeps them afloat.

Pandasarecute · 18/11/2018 20:34

Bendicks bittermints are the best!

dun1urkin · 18/11/2018 20:36

God I loved After Eights when I was a kid. My grandparents used to get them at Christmas, I enjoyed leaving the wrappers in the box to irritate everyone.
I’m not sure I’ve ever had Elizabeth Shaw, which is a bit odd because they aren’t hard to find

I miss mingles terribly.
I haven't tried them yet, but have seen mint lindors in the shop. "How can they be?"Grin

UrsulaPandress · 18/11/2018 20:37

I prefer a rose or violet cream myself.

Sexnotgender · 18/11/2018 20:38

Lidl do a tube of mint fondants that are lovely.

Hotel Chocolat have peppermint chocolates in their selection which are great.

afishnotabird · 18/11/2018 20:39

Mint Lindors are amazing! Asda have had them at £3.50, don't know if that's still the price now.

I'm desperately on the lookout for mint white chocolates, but all I've found are one or two in massive boxes of milk and dark, and that's just not worth it.

BollocksToBrexit · 18/11/2018 20:39

Thorntons mint collection is my favourite.

hugoagogo · 18/11/2018 20:39

That was supposed to be: "How bad can they be?" Like Ina Garten?
Fail Sad

SweetPeaPods · 18/11/2018 20:40

After eights or matchmakers

Babybearsporij · 18/11/2018 20:41

The mint lindors are very nice.

If you can get hold of the ghirardelli (sp?) peppermint squares, they are delicious, they come in white, dark and milk. All lovely.

dun1urkin · 18/11/2018 20:41

I’ve had some of the Hotel Chocolat mint selectors. I like their less sweet white with mint. Lovely.

There’s a Lidl near my work... I should go and have a look

I miss Twilight mint chocolates.

They used to come in a little gold box. They were my reward for cooking Christmas lunch, all to myself with a brandied coffee.

Loopytiles · 18/11/2018 20:43

After Eights still my favourites, very occasionally can also find them at newsagents in square tubes for one (same size as Munchies).

Matchmakers recipe has sadly now been ruined and those taste of oil with aftertaste of vomit.

GetOffTheTableMabel · 18/11/2018 20:46

Matchmakers.
I am very sophisticated.

Redken24 · 18/11/2018 20:47

Mingles 😥

flapjackfairy · 18/11/2018 20:48

Am I the only one who thinks eating after eights is akin to eating toothpaste ?

wowfudge · 18/11/2018 20:49

Nope. They are vile. I don't like dark chocolate for starters.

Redtartanshoes · 18/11/2018 20:51

Mint lindt are amazing

Fireandfury1 · 18/11/2018 20:52

I love mint fondants - there’s one in the Thornton’s selection that is lovely. Think there’s a white choc version, too. Prefer fondant to crinkly version . After Eights are great! Love peeling the squares apart 😂

dun1urkin · 18/11/2018 20:54

I’ve not had mint Lindt, they sound promising

I also have some Kendal mint cake liqueur in, am planning on mint chocolate grasshoppers - if anyone can suggest a very chocolatey chocolate liqueur as well (cheap please) that would be amazing Grin
