Advent calendar without sweets?!

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 18/11/2018 20:02

Have been looking for days for an advent calendar that has little pictures instead of sweets for 3yo DD. We always had these when I was growing up but cannot find anything except ones with sweets or ridiculously expensive ones with toys.

Any ideas where to look?

John Lewis have a few - good Quentin Blake one

MawkishTwaddle · 18/11/2018 20:04

Post Offices usually have them.

Card shops and charity shops often have the plain card ones. I bought a lovely one last January in a national trust shop half price!

John Lewis, WHSmiths, or churches/cathedrals with a shop. We got ours from York Minster.

Thanks! I looked on the John Lewis site but couldn't see - will try again!

Our local PO has closed Hmm

Definitely had some in WH Smith here. Also the garden centre usually has some.

Floralnomad · 18/11/2018 20:07

WHSmiths had lots of really nice ones a few weeks back , and that was in a small branch .

Villanellesproudmum · 18/11/2018 20:11

I’ve bought a gorgeous one from Flamingo Paperie. They have lots of options.

CarolDanvers · 18/11/2018 20:12

WH Smith usually has them.

Mamimawr · 18/11/2018 20:13

I've bought some in WHSmiths in the past.

Muddlingalongalone · 18/11/2018 20:14

WH Smith had them last weekend

buddy79 · 18/11/2018 20:15

I got a nice one in Oxfam last year I think!

CelticPromise · 18/11/2018 20:20

Our RC church has them for £2. Have a look in the back of local churches?

purpleme12 · 18/11/2018 20:26

Yes Waterstones do ones like that

FoofFighter · 18/11/2018 20:42

A whole stand full in our WHSmith this afternoon

CartwheelCath · 18/11/2018 20:44

Amazon usually have a good choice.
WH Smith on the high street.
Where ever you buy it you will bizarrely pay alot more than a naff chocolate one.

wowfudge · 18/11/2018 20:45

Amazon. Card shops, especially little local ones. WH Smith.

TheWickedWitchofWestYorkshire · 18/11/2018 21:08

I'm sure I saw some advertised on the aldi website earlier today. I also saw some on Amazon and, I think, Morrisons, as well as our local garden centre. That wasn't what I was looking for though (I wanted wooden ones with little drawers to put our own sweets inside) so I don't remember what images were behind the windows or exactly where I saw them. There seemed to be loads though.

Did my online shop yesterday. Asda have a cheese one coming soon.

I kid you not!
