Amazon fire - 8gb or 16gb?

Can anyone tell me whether the 8gb version is sufficient? How much can it store on it (thinking of tv programs) more or less? Thanks.

Get the bigger one. It'll run out, but not quite so early. Also, the operating system occupies a lot of storage: m.androidcentral.com/amazon-fire-tablet-which-storage-size-should-i-buy

I've just ordered the 16GB for dd2 as I was thinking that she might want to download some films for when she's out of WiFi range like in the car etc.

Thanks!

Always go for the biggest storage option you can get/afford. It'll be worth it as once you've got the operating system plus some apps and any kind of downloaded video, the 8gb will run out pretty quickly.

Sorry to hijack thread but is there much difference between the kids and the normal one? DD2 is about to turn 7.

scaryteacher · 18/11/2018 17:33

Mine is 64gb and I have a lot of stuff on there. Worth paying the extra.

@Rockbird - we have the non-kids version with a protective case. It's absolutely fine for us (aged 8 and under).

I believe the kids one comes with a protective case, a 2 year guarantee against damage from drops etc and subscription to amazon/kindle kids (that you can buy separately if you want it). However it's also more expensive to reflect this

Thanks, that's really helpful to know. DD2 is an iPad expert so she should be fine with the normal one.
