Amazon fire tablet question?

Ds (7) has a tablet on his Christmas list as his old one broke a while ago. The amazon tablets are super cheap at the moment but I understand the amazon store is different from the play store.

Can you still get you tube on it? And are the games similar to android?

HI SugarTwist. I am far from a techie expert but i have both a mini iPad and an Amazon Fire 8HD.

I thought there would be a huge difference between the two bearing in mind how much cheaper the Fire Tablet was. I have yet to find anything I can do on the IPad that I can't do on the Fire Tablet.

The Amazon store is pretty limited but the good news is that you can easily download the Playstore app onto the Fire Tablet. (Instructions on YouTube.). Also You Tube plays just as well on the Fire Tablet as it does on IPad.

Unfortunately I'm not a gamer but I don't see any reason why games shouldn't play equally well.

I can certainly highly recommend the Fire Tablet from my experience.

Yes, just check out YouTube for how to download Playstore.
