Which gives better protection - credit card or Paypal?

Out of laziness (ie can’t be bothered to input credit card details), I quite often default to ordering by PayPal.

However, I know credit card gives really good protection for purchases over £100 - eg if supplier goes bust, goods are defective etc.

But also PayPal gives some protection for eBay etc.

Is there one I should be using over another?

I recently ordered so me stuff from New Look with the intention of trying on in store and returning in store what didn’t fit / suit. However, I spotted just in time when ordering that if you pay PayPal when ordering online, you will only get a credit note if returning items in store, (Can still get money back when using PayPal - just have to return via post). So definitely a reason there not to use PayPal

Paypal doesn’t protect your purchases like a cc, except when buying from ebay. My H is always reminding me but it’s so much easier Blush

Ah, thanks - so PayPal is good for eBay (but not so much otherwise - well, other than for convenience)

Yes it does , makes no difference whether it’s through eBay as long as you are not paying “friends and family “

With a credit card you need to spend £100 or over with PayPal you don’t.

I've had money back from PayPal from both a company and a person outwith eBay. So pp is wrong I'm afraid.
Don't ever pay friends and family tho (unless you're actually sending money to friends or family) as you don't get any protection

So what protection do you get with PayPal?
