What did you do for your DC 2nd birthday

DD is turning 2 soon and I'm stuck for ideas for what to do for her birthday. She still seems too young for a children's party. We had a family party last year for her birthday but family politics ruined it so don't fancy repeating.
Would have like to go away but can't really afford anywhere too expensive/ would have to be in the uk.
Any ideas?

I think we took DD1 to the zoo, and we took DD2 to a farm park. They enjoyed themselves. 2 year olds don't need big expensive days out to have a good time. We didn't know enough people with kids to have a kids' party. Family invited themselves round at the weekend near the birthday.

When my ds was 2 we took him to build a bear! He loved and still sleeps with his bear every night

We went to London zoo, just me DH and DS. It was lovely. He wore a badge and had cake in the cafe. I think my parents, sister and her children then came up that weekend and we had birthday cake. It wasn’t billed as a party.

He had a party for his third birthday, we were able to hire a room in a children’s centre and had five or six children and their parents.

Had a party in a soft play cafe where they did a singing class. Was only for 10 children.

We went away but if that’s not an option I’d just have a day doing the things my 2yr old would love I.e. a farm park and soft play or swimming and a visit to a play park all with balloons and cake
