Never had one as child... Dd has got to 12... Got one, we treated it with bazuka the strong one.

It seemed to go and that was that.

Then a few weeks ago dd said she thought she had athlete's foot and there... Were large protruding wart like veruccas.

She now has 5 maybe 6 on her feet. Should a doctor take a look? Is this normal.does anyone have tips on what else we should do?

Yes 40, her big toe had about 15 of them, it was revolting.
I had loads of them when I was younger too because I used to swim competitively, I’ve not had one in about 20 years though.

KitKatCHA · 17/11/2018 22:20

Bazooka did nothing on my sons. Apple cider vinegar covered in a plaster and changed daily got rid within a fortnight.

Honestly don't mess about with all the old wives tales just go to a chiropodist three visits got rid of dds collection of verrucas.
She gave us some crystals to dissolve in afootbath every night for two weeks they just peeled off in one big peel of skin. ( she had a cluster of around twenty all on her big toe) it was so satisfying but utterly gross at the same time!

DD had one a while ago, tried bazooka, wartner, freezing etc. Did absolutely nothing. A friend told me to try nail polish, a dark colour & just paint a layer on each night, don't file it , just keep painting a new layer on each night. Within 2 weeks it fell off.

@moveoverhogger I have been trying this with my DD but the varnish keeps coming off after a few hours. Rubbing in shoes / in the bath I guess. Am I doing something wrong?!

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 17/11/2018 23:10

I had absolutely loads as a kid - I remember from about age 15-17 ish I must have had at least 40 on one foot only. In a massive cluster. Fucking horrible they were and the doctor couldn’t offer any advice or treatment that wasn’t an over the counter one I’d already tried.

They went away at some point and although I’ve got one now, I was easily a decade free of them.

haggisaggis · 17/11/2018 23:44

Dd had loads on the top of her foot - and warts on her elbows. We tried the chiropodist for weeks then the wart clinic at GP surgery where they use liquid nitrogen to freeze them off - nothing worked. After about 3 years they went away by themselves, almost overnight.

GreenTulips · 17/11/2018 23:49

Look for varuca plasters

They work

WiltedDaffs · 17/11/2018 23:59

Both my DC have had 5 at the same time. Bazooka and wartner did nothing. Alternating Salactol and neat tea tree got rid of them.

Labradoodliedoodoo · 18/11/2018 06:32

Teatree took 2 weeks twice a day and they came off as a whole leaving a pit.

SaraCara · 18/11/2018 06:40

Take her to a chiropodist. It's a bit ££ but you'll probably only need a few visits.

Gohackyourself · 18/11/2018 06:49

Vicks vapour rub/tea tree oil twice a day helped my son, dab the tea tree oil on then smear layer of vicks over the top.

ivykaty44 · 18/11/2018 06:51

Verruca don’t survive without water, so get the plastic socks for showers and baths

Your child will build up their own resistance - eventually

You can get over the counter treatments, ask the pharmacist for recommendations

kk66 · 18/11/2018 07:55

A small piece of banana skin and a plaster overnight worked for us. Took about 10 days but pealed off

moveoverhogger · 18/11/2018 08:22

@2012860363 I did it every night when she was in bed, then made her keep her foot still for 5 mins until it dried. Apparantly it starves it of oxygen and it dies off. Hth

Good evidence for duct tape, see link above

Momasita · 18/11/2018 11:01

Really interestingly range of treatments! The main idea then is to starve of oxygen abs water

I wonder if it's her own shoe's re infecting her
