This is going to taste like crap isn't it?

I have no food in the house that i actually want to eat. No snacks, pizza anything Saturday night like.

I came sooo close to ordering a curry but felt guilty.

Instead I'm cooking lentils, vegetable stock cube, frozen white fish fillet, paprika, going to add chopped tomatoes and garlic. Maybe some beans. That is all wrong for a Saturday night isn't it? It isn't even smelling good.

This is not a stealth boast about home cooking. None of it is even fresh and i can't be arsed chopping vegetables.

Doesn’t sound too bad. Have you got any frozen garlic bread you could eat with it?

Gileswithachainsaw · 17/11/2018 19:09

It's the fish that's killing it.

Other than that it would be a very basic if not very nice but just about edible lentil Bolognese

Stone cold McNuggets here. Swap?

It looks murky brown in colour. Even when I added tomatoes. Yes maybe the fish was a mistake. No garlic bread.

Rockbird - That doesn't sound great either!

Sorry op...I think that sounds vile although I suspect a lot of people on here will disagree with me.

BlackForestCake · 17/11/2018 19:21

I think that would be great if you added something really hot to it – sriracha or Thai curry paste, or just some chilli sauce, and more garlic.

ijustwantasofa · 17/11/2018 19:23

If you had curry paste or spices that'd be getting close to a nice fish curry.

Stinkycheeseandbreadcrumbs · 17/11/2018 19:25

It a bit tasteless. Ive added tomato puree and chilli.

I may just make a big mug of tea and go do what I should be doing rather than starting the evenings dullest thread!

That sounds absolutely horrible. Fgs don’t eat it.

Lwmommy · 17/11/2018 19:28

Do you have bread and cheese? - cheese.on toast or toastie add sliced tomato and/or worstershire sauce if you have it.

Eggs? Omelette, scrambled or fried with toast or fried bread

FLour, egg and milk - crepes, add bicarb and you have american pancakes, thicken it and fry in spoon sized blobs and you have drop scones which you can butter and jam

Basicaly, anything soind better than what you've made, sorry OP

MairzyDoats · 17/11/2018 19:30

You need to add spices and a chilli sauce, then it may turn into quite a nice curry. Or bin it and order a curry to cheer yourself up.

SD1978 · 17/11/2018 19:31

Any vegetables you can dump in? Carrots? Maybe fry the fish in some herbs and spices to give it some taste of it's own? Or shred it in to the Le told? Turmeric is nice on bland fish if you've a got it. Or a truck load of salt on the lot!

Alexandra2018 · 17/11/2018 19:31

I couldn't face going shopping last night so the kids had packs of past & sauce I had crisps!

PickAChew · 17/11/2018 19:33

The fish would have been better on it or added later on in the cooking.

Stinkycheeseandbreadcrumbs · 17/11/2018 19:37

I have a grocery delivery tomorrow. No bread eggs etc. DC haven't been here for a couple of days so didn't shop.

I've had a bowl. Wasn't that bad.

I have no spices other than different forms of chilli. I think that's what was lacking.

Order in a pizza?

SweetPeaPods · 17/11/2018 20:13

Glad it was ok OP.
I haven’t even started mine yet. Despite going shopping Thursday there is nothing jumping out of interest. Only 1 egg left so won’t make a great omelette. Not sure if I’m hungry enough for microwave curry. I better make something soon though or i’ll end up grazing on rubbish and regret it!
