I’d say it’s suitable. You’re aware of some of the content, but you don’t really see anything. Whether they’ll enjoy it or not could be another story, you know your 10 year old though.

Yes. I took mine. He both loved it. Lols of interesting things to talk about afterwards. Have fun!!

My 10 year old has seen it - I was worried only about drugs, but worries were unfounded.

I took my 11 year old. There were a few scenes which were a bit edgy regarding sex which would depend how comfortable you are with that. We also had a long discussion about aids and why it was prevalent in the male gay community at the time so it does raise some issues.

Overall we all loved it.

Saw it last night. I thought it was great and a little sad. Soundtrack amazing of course. No actual scenes of sex and drugs- just alluded to

This is really helpful, thank you.

I took my 9yr old the other day. He loved it.

I didn’t talk to him beforehand but he did ask afterwards why he died so we had a talk about what HIV and AIDS are. So maybe be prepared to explain it in an age relevant way.

Very little drug use or sex. They do say ‘Are you high again Fred?’ and there’s white powder on a table.

Bit of bad language bollocks and one use of fuck comes to mind but nothing horrible.

Hope you enjoy it Smile.

My 11yo DD enjoyed it. Things are alluded to but I think a lot goes over their heads as they don't pick up on the references. Its certainly not 'in your face'.

I went with my (grown up) daughter to see it. I think the reality was very much dumbed down to make it more accessible to a wider age range.
There is enough in there to allow people of any age to ask further questions re HIV/AIDS. Could also tie in with the current HIV testing week and raising awareness to check your status.

We both loved it, although as soon as we got home we did check some of the facts! Amazing music and acting.
