Scooter (foot) for commuting?

Started a new job and it's about 3.5 miles away. Takes 2 buses and an hour to get to, but DH will be giving me a lift when I'm on earlies (7am start).

So I've been looking at scooters as I noticed loads of people in Miami and Ibiza using them to get to work. I can't ride a bike to save my life and I thought this might be a good compromise. I tried walking and it takes an hour ( on a good day. I'm not fit)

I used to ride my kids micro scooters on the way to pick them up from school so I'm not a completely dyspraxic numpty. It's just cars and bikes I can't do.

Does anyone else use a scooter? I'm mid 50's if that makes any difference. Any recommendations for makes? I can be a bit spendy as I'll just do some overtime to pay for it.

TIA.

Go for it. If it's going to make life easier it's worth doing. Also when your DH takes you early you can put it in the car to use on the way home. You can't do that with a bike

OP I bought one for uni (I'm 31), it makes getting around so much quicker! Funnily enough since I've bought it I have noticed that quite a few commuters do use scooters!

I haven't had any negative comments whilst riding it yet either haha :)

When I visited London last week, I saw quit a few adults on 'commuter scooters' like this one by Micro Scooters. Go for it!
