Could I use vagisil on this? TMI maybe?

I had an operation on my vulva a few days ago. It was a fairly big op and I've got a lot of stitches along my perinium, going up round the edge of the vaginal opening, my inner labia has been removed on one side and it finishes about a cm below and to the side of my clitoris.

I'm taking regular painkillers and it's under control. But now it's starting to heal a bit it's getting itchy near the top. Could I use vagisil to help with the itching? Can it be used on broken skin?

I wouldn't put anything on it. The itching will be it healing

I had a lot of stitches in and out after DDs birth and I found running a warm shallow bath with salt in stopped any itching. Check with your dr first though...

I used to mix a couple of drops of lavender oil into a bit of milk and put it in my bath when I was healing from my episiotomy - could you try that? Freeze a cotton sanitary towel with a few drops on it too to soothe for longer.

I hope you recover well.

Freezing a sanitary towel is a brilliant idea I think. I won't use the vagisil yet. I'll try the frozen towel and salt bath. Fab! Thanks
