a glowing alarm clock that's not too bright

I currently have a digital alarm clock with a backlight that shows the time on the display, without needing a light. However, it's really bright and DP absolutely hates it.

I had an absolutely brilliant one years ago which had a very faint display. I think it was technically a travel alarm clock, it sat in a sort of little stand and if you pressed it gently it would light up a bit brighter for 10 seconds or so and then go back to being very faint. It was a gift with no brand name on it so I was never able to replace it when it eventually broke.

Does anyone have any recommendations for something similar?

Thanks.
Realised the other thing I should have said is that ideally I'd like something that looks nice - everything I can find seems very utilitarian! The one I had years ago was a really elegant design - it was almost like a flat metal sheet, with a slight wave to it, which stood in a a groove in it's rubber stand. And if you pressed gently on the metal face it rocked back slightly and lit up a bit brighter.

The Gingko cube click clock looks nice and lights up when you click your fingers or tap your bedside table, but might not be such a good idea if you don't want to disturb your OH!
I'd also look at the Acctim smartlite www.johnlewis.com/acctim-smartlite-alarm-clock-matt-blue/p3429149
