Will studded football boots ruin the lawn?

Google doesn’t help. What do you think? Limit DS to his other shoes or let him wear his new boots (which he’s going to be wearing at football games every Saturday, so he will get to wear them).

Oh and he’s 8 if that’s relevant.

Send him to the park!
All shoes ruin the lawn in this weather.
He will have better grip in studs though. Are they metal or moulded?

It depends how often he uses them on the lawn and how precious you are about it.

Moulded.
We’re goung to be letting him play, it’s just whether the studs are worse.

Not massively precious, but don’t want it totally mudbath-ed.

Of course they're worse! Any football will ruin the lawn though so probably not worth worrying about. Let him play and you can have grass in 10 years time when he leaves home.

Don’t know. When I was young it was in vogue to aerate the lawn using a long push roller with spikes. Haven’t seen anyone doing this for years though. Although I have seen local councils using industrial versions on ovals/fields, like a ride on mower or mini tractor with it as attachment. Have seen this a few times in the last few years and it’s not like I spend a lot of time at ovals so it must be common.
