Worst: Daphne from Frasier

Worst: Don Cheadle in Ocean's Eleven!

TammySwansonTwo · 16/11/2018 12:30

Worst I’ve seen recently: Michael C Hall in Safe. Yikes.

Bunnyhop1502 · 16/11/2018 12:31

Isn’t that Daphne’s real accent though?

Dick van dyke; cockerny accent in Mary Poppins. Has to be heard to believed

MartaHallard · 16/11/2018 12:33

Surely nothing tops Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins?

Koalablue · 16/11/2018 12:34

John Lithgow Pitch Perfect 3.

ReverseTheFerret · 16/11/2018 12:39

Julie Walters in Billy Elliot cannot do the accent at all. I know Durham/Sunderland is a bugger to do without it veering into Keith Fit from Gigglebiz territory or wandering off to Scotland or Ireland... but it's atrocious.

FadedRed · 16/11/2018 12:48

Dick van Dyke has to take the top prize for worst accent, but a close second is Sean Bean doing anything other than Sheffield.

FoodGloriousFud · 16/11/2018 13:17

The man pretending to be Geordie in Castle. It is absolutely appalling... He sounds Irish and they're playing Irish music in the background. It amazing to watch.

NotANotMan · 16/11/2018 13:19

Daphne from frasier is a Londoner I think

Keanu reeves in Dracula, closely followed by Winona Ryder in Dracula!

Tinkerbellisnotafairy · 16/11/2018 13:20

Christian Slater in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves

FlosCampi · 16/11/2018 13:23

Angel from Buffy in his Irish youth; I cringe to watch!

FlosCampi · 16/11/2018 13:27

Oh and best also from Buffy: Spike's English accent. I was really shocked to hear James Marsters was actually American!

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 16/11/2018 13:32

Until I heard that, Dick Van Dyke's Cockney accent in Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang would have had my top WTF award.

Sleepthief · 16/11/2018 13:32

Yes to dick van dyke, although it does enter the realms of so bad it's great! Personal nadir = Sean connery's 'irish' Cop in Goodfellas... or maybe Ewan McGregor's English accent in Emma (or any film he's done an English accent in!)

Sleepthief · 16/11/2018 13:34

Best = David Tenant's dr who accent - was so surprised to hear him speak with a Scottish accent!

SeraphinaDombegh · 16/11/2018 13:37

Best - Gwyneth Paltrow in Sliding Doors. Worst - Russell Crowe in Robin Hood. Hilariously bad!

HildaZelda · 16/11/2018 13:40

Tom Cruise's 'Irish' ( I use the term VERY loosely!) accent in Far and Away and Julia Roberts even worse one in Michael Collins Confused

HiGunny · 16/11/2018 13:45

Tom Cruise in Far and Away wins hands down!

Knowivedonewrong · 16/11/2018 13:49

Jason Statham's American accent in any film he's been in.

WakeUpFromYourDreamAndScream · 16/11/2018 13:53

Oh my god. I live about 30 miles away from Newcastle. That accent from Castle has got to be the worst Geordie I've ever heard. Good god!

LuggsaysNotaWomen · 16/11/2018 13:53

Mel Gibson’s Scottish on Brave Heart, has to be in the top ten worst at least.

WatchingFromTheSidelines · 16/11/2018 13:57

Worst: Nicole Kidman in anything.

MrsMoastyToasty · 16/11/2018 14:06

Wirst -Sean Connery doing anything other than his native Scottish accent. He played an eygptian in Highlander and a Russian in The Hunt for Red October both with a Scottish accent.

DrWendyRhoades · 16/11/2018 14:08

John Lithgow Pitch Perfect 3.
This.

I assume it was supposed to be so bad it’s comical but it was just bad.
