Anyone know their way around Microsoft Access? Need some help and don't understand Google's answers!

What is the problem?

Yes what do you need help with?

CoatedInSnow · 15/11/2018 15:42

Ok, so I have a database with three forms.
Form A has person details. (1)
Form B has object details. (20)
Form C has detailed-object details. (50)

the numbers are e.g. I have one person who has 20 objects and those 20 objects have 50 parts.

I have it linked so that in Form C I have a drop down box to choose the relevant B and A ID.

But if I enter a new object in Form B, I have to save and close and reopen Form C before the new object appears in my drop down list. I'm sure there must be a way to update this between forms, but I can't figure it out.

I know how to update inside a form (I have cascading combo boxes in Form B that work) but not sure how to get it to update across the forms.

Can you include a button in form c that runs a macro to Close and open it?

CoatedInSnow · 15/11/2018 19:45

Yes, but that's not really any different to closing it and opening it. I've 426 entries in Form C now and seems to be responding slower that when I started. I assume as the data base gets larger it's going to take even longer to load each time so want a way that would avoid closing and opening the form.
