What are the three childhood vaccine dents in my arm from?

Google says BCG and smallpox vaccines leave a scar, I'm 33 so BCG must be one but not smallpox.

What others could leave a life long dent?

I have both scars, but no other vaccines left a scar. I'm 50 and struggling to remember the vaccines I've had that might have left a scar.

The BCG one was done with a stamp with 9 needles? When my children had it done it created a blister that healed ... but I has it when I was young, but don’t have a scar
I have a scar from when I got tick bite fever, but no other marks ...

A stamp with 9 needles! Shock That sounds horrific!

But would explain three dents!

Polio is one of them. I'll have a think and come back!

Is the BCG one for TB? Princess Charlene of Monaco has got a very prominent vaccine scar on one arm.

Before BCG you had the Six Needles, which showed if you needed the jab or not. Some people went about punching other peoples arms after they'd had it.

NOTthepinkranger · 15/11/2018 13:51

BCG rest was 6 pricks wasn’t it that’s just to tell you if you needed the actually vaccine (heaf test) those who actually had BCG mostly ended up with a scar.

God know what your vaccine marks are from could be numerous vaccines

Rosie1976mini · 15/11/2018 13:55

The Mantoux test is the multiple pin prick for TB - I had it as a child as my Dad had TB - with my Mum told not to worry it was just a precautionary test. The next day at school we were clay modelling and I rolled up my sleeve to reveal a huge blister on the site where the test had been administered...and low and behold I had TB too. The marks stayed well in to my teens, but no last effect now.

Hushnownobodycares · 15/11/2018 13:57

I didn't get a scar from the BCG jab. Dh has one but he went swimming in the sea virtually straight after Hmm which apparently made it swell up. The needle test was given a couple of weeks or so beforehand to see if you had been exposed to TB already.

Could it be MMR?

Namelessinseattle · 15/11/2018 14:02

I have 3 white dots instead. Every so often my mom goes nuts and looks for them and says she got all my vaccines done where are they. My brother has them too. I think they’re all BCG. Both parents have them too- mid 50’s. are you Irish perchance? Everyone I know has them.

MulticolourMophead · 15/11/2018 14:38

Namelessinseattle not all vaccinations leave a scar. I struggle to find anything from vaccinations other than the couple of marks I mentioned earlier, and yet I have numerous scars from giving blood.
