Adding a new pet to the family

At the moment we have a cat and a hamster. My daughter is doing a great job of looking after the hamster and the cat is pretty much independent apart from food and cuddles from me on a night. My neighbour looks after them when we are away.. we are soo lucky there!

My daughter (and son) really want either a rabitt of guineapigs. We dont have a huge garden but they would have to live outside all year round. Im looking for opinions good and bad for having either as pets. I had GP when I was younger and have fond memories of them and not so fond memories of being nagged to clean them out. But I am willing to do alot of the cleaning out and feeding etc.

Im interested in what they are like as pets. Can they be easily handles, think my daughter has a vision of her sitting cuddling them while she watches tv....

If it would have to live outside all year, please don’t get guinea pigs. They need to be in the house over winter. And never have just one guinea pig. And don’t keep a guinea pug with a rabbit.
Apart from that, good luck :)
