I can't get diving one either no idea about train book. I did moan when ds sat down beside me and said the carol one straight away

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 15/11/2018 18:47

Done! With a huge amount of help - thank you all so much.

ShannonRockallMalin · 15/11/2018 18:47

knockmedown thanks for the clue for the newspaper one, that made it straightforward.

VitaminSea · 15/11/2018 18:48

@Nousernameforme where is the woman diving going?

I have all but blimp and newspaper. I'm stumped by the clues!

BlindAssassin1 · 15/11/2018 18:51

PawneeParksDept Thanks! Good clue! One of my favorite books too.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius The boat one is probably the most obscure book of the lot. His more famous novel goes into the jungles of Africa....

BlindAssassin1 · 15/11/2018 18:55

VitaminSea The blimp image is a bit of red herring I think. What would have Christopher Columbus et al referred to the Americas too when they were first discovered?

VitaminSea · 15/11/2018 18:57

Oh god, I just got the blimp. Doh.

LadyDeadpool · 15/11/2018 18:58

@VitaminSea another world for bold and what america once was called before it was America. The newspaper is about someone who is doing ok. general fiction hugely popular their name sounds like an elephant.

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 15/11/2018 19:04

I'm just stuck at the vineyard one, is it very obvious?

Mistoffelees · 15/11/2018 19:05

I got the urn one ok, am still stuck on sunset one despite following all advice on here and googling books with sun in the title Blush

VitaminSea · 15/11/2018 19:06

Got it! Thanks, @LadyDeadpool

LadyDeadpool · 15/11/2018 19:08

@Mistoffelees go absolutely pedantic and describe exactly what the sun is.

@BlessedBeTheFruitCake What comes out of vineyards? Classic book was made into a film in 1940.

Mistoffelees · 15/11/2018 19:08

Missed the Nigeria clue, got it now via googling!

VitaminSea · 15/11/2018 19:08

@BlessedBeTheFruitCake what is grown in a vineyard?
@Mistoffelees don't think of it as rising or setting (or dawn or dusk) think of the proportion.

Mistoffelees · 15/11/2018 19:10

@LadyDeadpool, I'd tried any number of sunset combinations, hadn't realised it would be quite so "say what you see" as it was!

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 15/11/2018 19:13

Blush thanks VitaminSea got it now!

BlaaBlaaBlaa · 15/11/2018 19:17

Got everyone except the fire one.....thanks to the clues on here! I feel like I'm missing something really obvious

Brainwashed · 15/11/2018 19:19

Yes got them all with help from this thread

AnnieRich · 15/11/2018 19:31

I've got them all apart from the French book . Well and truly stuck.

ElideLochan · 15/11/2018 19:33

argh - down to newspaper and hospital

Sugarhunnyicedtea · 15/11/2018 19:34

The newspaper is a book that everyone has talked about this year.
Hospital is something a nurse/Doctor says

Sugarhunnyicedtea · 15/11/2018 19:38

Newspaper - won a Costa award in 2017

ElideLochan · 15/11/2018 19:40

Yay!! got them all - could NOT have done it without you lot!!

Caroian · 15/11/2018 19:40

The French one you need to translate the word. It's a book about that word.
