Uncreasing a crease

So, at the beginning of term DH's trousers were too long. I folded, tacked and ironed a seam into them.

He's had a growth spurt and they need dropping. I untacked them last night, ironed them and there is still a visible crease line from before.

Will I ever get that crease out? I don't really want to buy new trousers for him when they've not even got him through a full term but I also don't want him to look a mess.

Try ironing over a damp cloth on the crease on both sides of the hem. Just wet a tea towel or something like that, out it on the hem and press with a hot iron.

My mum says dampen the crease line with white vinegar, let it sit a while then iron over. Then wash the trousers, it may take more than one go, but apparently works.

Ok great. Thanks all. I chucked them back into the washer afterwards to see if it got them out so we shall see later when I get home..
