Bit of a tricky one - could anyone help me find a ziingzillas playset?

DS3 (7) is quite heavily on the autistic spectrum, has LD and SAL delay, and goes to special school (as does DS2 (10) who's also on the spectrum with LD).
He, like many other children, goes through phases of having certain tv shows that he will only watch - at the moment, it's Zingzillas, Mr Tumble and Postman Pat. His birthday's coming up in December, and the one thing he keeps showing me (deliberately) is a Zingzillas playset. It's the one with the island and little plastic figurines - and of course, they're very rare now. My mum was watching one on ebay hoping to bid for it, but it went for £61.00! It gets really bad reviews as a toy, but it's just the disappointment on his little face when he doesn't get one - he's never asked for anything this much before.
DH, my mum and I have been searching for one online - can we find one? Of course that's why they go for double the original price now.
Does anyone have any ideas of where we might be able to find one? Are there any old or rare toy websites out there?

Could you contact the manufacturer & explain the situation? Also CBeebies?

Other than that, I would say it is quite an old programme, so maybe try asking people with DC of a similar age to it. E.g. I have a friend with a 10-year old DD who is selling off bits atm & there is a Zingzillas item among that.

I hope you find it! I totally get how important it is for a DC with ASC to get the one thing they are obsessed with Smile

Found one on gumtree and one on Facebook marketplace. If they aren't near you they may post for extra cost if you ask and explain. Can't add photos for some reason but I just searched zingzillas. EBay does also have an image search now which might bring some up that aren't listed correctly so you may get a bargain!

Or could you put a request out on some Facebook groups/freecycle/gumtree/schpock. Maybe even ask local charity shops to keep an eye out. Someone may have one laying around, looking online it went on clearance for about £10 in 2012. So the children who had it may be outgrowing it nowish! Set up search alerts too on all of the above as then you can be notified soon and more chance of getting it!

I can't help but thank you for reminding me of zingzillas. They were very soothing!

Yes are there any local community FB groups? We have neighbours groups round here that would be perfect for this.

My 10 year old was perfect target age for Zingzillas so I'd be targeting parents of Y5/Y6.

I know it's not a substitute but we had <a class="break-all" href="https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/-BBC-ZINGZILLAS-10-JIGSAWS-10-JIGSAW-PUZZLES-CREATE-A-GIANT-JIGSAW-NEW-/273554621924?ul_ref=rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?type=2&pub=5575403537&toolid=10001&campid=5338343596&item=273554621924&customid=vms%3Aeb%3Ap%3A273554621924%3BCjwKCAiAz7TfBRAKEiwAz8fKONJRSpt6L47aWZrCvZnnTXfffiiYiU5eO_MifQVTwSF4hSSKPpFSkRoC7B8QAvD_BwE&gclid=CjwKCAiAz7TfBRAKEiwAz8fKONJRSpt6L47aWZrCvZnnTXfffiiYiU5eO_MifQVTwSF4hSSKPpFSkRoC7B8QAvD_BwE&srcrot=710-53481-19255-0&rvr_id=1742127649348&rvr_ts=16d4047b1670aad943c7e0d6ffe79256&_mwBanner=1&_rdt=1&ul_noapp=true&pageci=cdbb96ee-8366-4a87-a3ac-f2c46ddfa77d&epid=1405238229" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this puzzle and it was my (autistic) son's favourite. I marked the backs of the pieces to tell the minipuzzles apart and we kept them in separate bags. He loved that puzzle for years.
