Ideas for breastfeeding basket

BirdsAndBlips · 14/11/2018 21:41

Hi,
A close friend is giving birth soon and I want to gift her a breastfeeding basket she can grab quickly, full of stuff you need when you're stuck under a newborn.
I've thought of Lansinoh cream, hydrogel pads, phone charger, chocolate.
What else?
Thanks :)

Magazines!!

gamerchick · 14/11/2018 21:46

Her fav cold drink. Breastfeeding makes you insanely thirsty.

And more chocolate with maybe some jellys if she likes them for quick energy. Definitely shit to read.

jusdepamplemousse · 14/11/2018 21:47

Multi mam compresses, silver nipple cups.

Paracetamol and ibuprofen! If you’re being honest.

A nice reusable water bottle or hot drink cup?

Depends how much she is into it but if she’s really super keen maybe a copy of the womanly art of breastfeeding book?

Flapjacks! Oats are supposedly good for milk supply and flapjacks are great for energy and easy to eat.

A really nice water bottle.

Ginmakesitallok · 14/11/2018 21:51

An insulated cup!

Stillnotready · 14/11/2018 21:51

Nice cordial and reusable drinking flask.

Notsoaccidentproneanymore · 14/11/2018 21:52

Oatcakes, protein bars, reusable water bottle, travel mug

Mumshotel · 14/11/2018 21:55

Yes some nice drinks and lanolin. What about some nice hand cream or lip balm for a quick bit of self care to fit in between

Santaispolishinghissleigh · 14/11/2018 21:57

Fleece blanket and cosy socks!!

Mumshotel · 14/11/2018 22:17

Cosy socks would be nice. What about a pretty travel mug. So hot drinks stay warm and safe for baby.
I hated my tea always being cold when i was so busy feeding the baby

Owlettele · 14/11/2018 22:20

Flapjack, feeding cookies or bars (may have to home make) nice travel mug and nice water bottle. Getting in to the habit of filling my large water bottle got me through many a long feed/nap when no one was home.

Replacement batteries for the remote :)

Pigeonpresent · 14/11/2018 22:23

Nipple shields, Lansing boob ice pack thingies, pads, one of those breastfeeding baby hats that looks like a boob

DontFundHate · 14/11/2018 22:26

Kindle voucher

Printerneedsink · 14/11/2018 22:26

juice cartons, little bags of nuts and raisins, lipbalm, pretty tissues/muslins

Purplepjs · 14/11/2018 22:34

I used a drinks bottle from ‘hydrate-for-health’. It clips onto bed frame/bedside table handle etc and then has a long tube with a bite valve. Was absolutely ideal for being able to drink when you don’t want to move a comfy, sleepy/feeding baby.

missmouse101 · 14/11/2018 22:39

Washable breast pads, decaffeinated teabags?

Pebblespony · 14/11/2018 22:41

I presume you've made sure that she plans to breastfeed?

missmouse101 · 14/11/2018 22:41

Pretty muslins for burping babe. V shaped breastfeeding pillow is amazing too!

Bigonesmallone3 · 14/11/2018 22:44

I know these have been said but I would deffo say-
nipple cream
Muslin
Drinking bottle for mum
A cordial??
Magazine
Boiled sweets or lil snacks
Pen
Painkillers
Breast pad

JeremyCorbynsCoat · 14/11/2018 23:23

Extra long phone charger

ohfourfoxache · 14/11/2018 23:34

If you’re thinking about breast pads get the boots own brand individually wrapped ones. They’re big enough that, even as you move around and your boob slips, they’re big enough to keep you protected

BirdsAndBlips · 15/11/2018 16:18

Thank you all for you nice suggestions!
