Would this taste disgusting or ok?

I have left over carrot and ginger soup, maybe 1.5 portions.
I have left over tomato sauce from tonight's pasta, enough for 2 DC.

Tomorrow, I'm planning to make a beef/tomato stew for lunch. Would a bit of stock, the leftover tom sauce and the leftover soup make an acceptable stew? Or would it be vile?

The sauce and some meat but not the soup!

poshredrose · 14/11/2018 18:18

How gingery is the soup?

Thebookswereherfriends · 14/11/2018 18:18

I think the soup having ginger in it might be a disaster for your stew. Leftover sauce will be fine.

I'd fry off the meat, carrots and celery and add it to the sauce and serve it with mash.

Gileswithachainsaw · 14/11/2018 18:23

Freeze the soup!

AdaColeman · 14/11/2018 18:39

Keep the soup separately and add something else to it to make up to two portions? Some extra stock and rice or noodles, stock pak-choy & spinach, stock and mixed peppers and shredded cabbage.

Use the sauce, freeze the soup

CoatedInSnow · 14/11/2018 19:15

It's quite gingery. The soup has already been defrosted once.

It might make an interesting curry... Not very authentic though.

DramaAlpaca · 14/11/2018 19:52

I'd leave out the soup. I don't think the flavours will work in a stew.

MrsGrindah · 14/11/2018 19:57

Well I think it sounds scrumptious!
