What do you think about these boots? (Photo)

Loved them in the shop. Still like them but worried if I will make good use of them. Got another 10 days to return them.
What you think? Any tips of how to style them/wear them with? Or just return them?

Are you working as one of Santa’s elves this year?

Sorry OP, I think they’re awful, but I’m not the one that has to wear them so it should only matter if you like them!

cjt110 · 14/11/2018 11:08

They're awful. Sorry

CoperCabana · 14/11/2018 11:10

I love them.

I'm not a huge fan of the sock boot generally, but they look pretty good to me. If say. I'd sat

OooohhDeer · 14/11/2018 11:12

Haha. I'd love to be an elf! 😂 I never owned a pair of boots like this but seen Xoe Ball on it takes two rocking similar boots and thought give them a go.

Not a fan of the heel sorry. Always think extreme pointy toes need higher heel to balance it out.

catinboots9 · 14/11/2018 11:13

Bit too Theresa May I think

Bluntness100 · 14/11/2018 11:13

Do you normally wear colourful foot wear? I'd struggle a bit due to the colour, but I like the shape. Maybe a bit eighties though.

BifsWif · 14/11/2018 11:14

I really like them!

They look lovely with the black trousers tucked in.

selfconfesseduggaddict · 14/11/2018 11:16

I feel like you'll twist your ankle and the heel is too low to be worth it

I also think they'll go patchy brown with wear and ruin fast

But they look pretty now and I like elves too

OooohhDeer · 14/11/2018 11:16

I agree about the heel and the pointy toes but I don't think I could work in high heels and these boots are comfortable. Compromise I suppose these would be ?! 😳

I love! They'd look great with a pleated midi skirt and chunky knit. Leggings and even boyfriend jeans (turned up).

KEEP THE RED CHRISTMAS BOOTS

MawkishTwaddle · 14/11/2018 11:18

I love them.

I have a pair just like them. I also have a pair in black, a pair in leopard and a pair in mustard yellow.

I guess I should go and find myself a shelf to sit in throughout December Grin

Heismyopendoor · 14/11/2018 11:20

I’m sorry, they are not very nice. They look very awkward, the toe, the heel and fabric.

Ohyesiam · 14/11/2018 11:20

I don’t like the heel.
M& S has several pairs of red suede ankle boots, if you want more options.

Mumsnut · 14/11/2018 11:21

I think they're intended to be worn with cropped, wide trousers. Very 80s worn with skinnies but hey, that look is probably on its way back and just round the corner ...

OooohhDeer · 14/11/2018 11:24

@MawkishTwaddle Haha, I'll sit with you 😂

Get them if you love them, but only if you can walk in them!

I find that style of heel absolutely impossible to walk in. They're just a bit too far forward and a bit too low. I had a few pairs with kitten heels like that in the early 00s the last time they came around and they were so utterly awkward and they make people look like flat footed penguins because you can't walk with your heel forward - you have to keep your foot a bit flat so the kitten heel hits the floor. The rear edge of the heel wears incredibly quickly as a result and the heel looks really scruffy after just a few wears.

I'd find some either with a low block heel or a higher normal high heel. M&S and New Look have some nice ones in at the moment.

Pieceofpurplesky · 14/11/2018 11:30

I love colourful shoes and boots. I love the colour here. I am just not sure on the heel - a block heel would be better

dontgobaconmyheart · 14/11/2018 11:50

Love red boots but sorry OP, I empathise with wanting to keep boots because they feel comfy (story of my life) but I can't get on board with these- the kitten heel and such pointyness as well as the very low ankle sock are not a great look, I don't think they'd work with much and look weird with skinny trousers especially.
I'd look for the same colour but a low block heel and less of a point, there's lots about.

HopeHopity · 14/11/2018 11:56

I was SO worried I would open the thread to find Cheryl's "Love made me do it" boots that I am just relieved and yes keep them

CoatedInSnow · 14/11/2018 13:09

Tbh they don't look like they fit you very well. The last picture, your heel looks like it's at a weird angle and in the middle picture it looks like your foot is wider than the sole of the shoe.

Santaispolishinghissleigh · 14/11/2018 13:17

A broken ankle isn't a good festive look...

Oceanbliss · 14/11/2018 13:25

I love the colour and agree with Fashionista101's advice.

birdling · 15/11/2018 15:27

Watch out for houses landing on your head whilst wearing them.
