It's been on my list of things to take the kids to for ages, and we've booked to go. I'm so excited I could burst! Tell me all about it! What's good nearby? We'll hopefully be staying in Portstewart and we'll have a car. Staying for 4 days. I love planning a trip!

I haven’t been to Barry’s since I was about 8 and it was run down then, never mind whatever it’s like now!

Agree with people suggesting Downhill Demesne and Mussenden Temple- it’s my favourite part of the North Coast.

Have you looked at The Gobbins? If you’re outdoorsy people it might be right up your alley- it’s a cliff side walk along and over the shore. It’s only opened fairly recently and looks good, but depends on the weather so I’m not even sure if it would be open in February as it can be a bit hairy in parts.

Tip one - walk round the side of the visitor centre and just go.

Tip two, it’s a long walk on a hot day.

Tip three - don’t go, it’s boring, go to the Gobbins trail instead. Much more interesting.

Here’s my pics at The Gobbins and Carrick a Rede.

Cormoran How challenging was The Gobbins? I've seen a few things saying that it’s not for the physically unfit (ie. moi).

DH is busting to go and I managed to get out of it this year by getting pregnant, but it seems a bit drastic to do that two years running.

The actual walk is fine, but it is very steep to walk down tobit and horribly steep in the way back up, I found that part the hardest,

Mussenden Temple is a very special place. I like it more than the Causeway.

Barry’s is bloody brilliant! Retro tastic.
I brought my in laws including the London crowd and the kids went bananas for it! And they’ve been to Disney!
Dunluce castle. Ballintoy harbour.
I took the kids up for the day in February half term and there was no one about. It’s too cold.

Another recommendation for Harry's Shack and Ballintoy Harbour. Bothy Coffee is a nice place to stop for lunch/to warm up too, very near Ballintoy on the coast road
