Leaving work.

mammy0f0ne · 13/11/2018 21:03

It's looking highly likely that I'm going to have to leave work due to my childcare falling through.

My partners dad usually looks after my son but he's recently started having problems with his heart.
I'm really concerned that I'm not going to be able to work. (As well as being concerned about my FIL)
I don't really know what happens next.

Find an alternative, you may be eligible for financial help.

mammy0f0ne · 13/11/2018 21:06

My grandparents are looking after him currently but they're old, they can't look after him forever.
I'm not entitled to any help, I've already looked into that.

mammy0f0ne · 13/11/2018 21:09

So you may be eligible for free hours from January.

Does your partner have any flexibility

mammy0f0ne · 13/11/2018 21:11

We won't be. We're not entitled to anything.

Unfortunately he doesn't have any flexibility at all. If he drops any days we'll be worse off.

Well can you pay for childcare?

Gazelda · 13/11/2018 21:41

Can you and/or your partner ask for flexible working so that you need less childcare cover? Can you look at childminders?
