I had a store card years and years ago sure it was for Richards Shops. Just wondering if anyone has claimed any PPI back from old store cards?

I thought it was just for loans and banks. Can u do it for store cards?

IncyWincyGrownUp · 13/11/2018 19:49

I would be interested to know this, as I was missold ppi ine one when I was a student.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 13/11/2018 19:49

On one, not ine one. Proofreading is beyond me this evening.

Yeah , I got a success from topshop store card , along with RBS loan , studio one and in the last week 1400 from capital one credit card.

Totallyaddictedtoshoes · 13/11/2018 19:52

I have literally just received a letter to say my claim has been upheld in relation to a storecard ppi policy missold to me when I was a student so give it a go!

teachpeach · 13/11/2018 19:57

Yes I’ve done it and got about £2000! It was for PPI on Monsoon, House of Fraser and another one I’ve forgotten, but they were all the same parent company. That company doesn’t exist anymore, it was GE but Santander have taken over all the PPI claims. I contacted them with my details, including all my old addresses, they searched and found the accounts and then I filled in the form and sent it off. It took about 6 months, I think they have gazillions of claims to get through, but I got a nice cheque in the end!

IncyWincyGrownUp · 13/11/2018 20:47

teach I love you. Mine were GE ones too. I’ll rattle them a letter off at the weekend.

ZootSuit · 13/11/2018 20:54

@teachpeach I also love you! I had store cards when I was a student so shouldn’t have had PPI but couldn’t work out where to go with the claim. Have just filled in the Santander online form, fingers crossed!

IncyWincyGrownUp · 13/11/2018 20:56

Online form?!

ZootSuit · 13/11/2018 21:31

I know! Just googled “Santander PPI” and straight in. Here you go:

I had a Top shop card circa 1997 and it only had a credit limit of 100 pounds. I put a claim in and got 400 back. They could t seem to find my Dorothy Perkins card though.

Livedandlearned2 · 13/11/2018 21:42

Thanks op, I'm downloading that form and applying.

ihatethecold · 13/11/2018 21:44

Is it worth looking into a Debenhams storecard?
I’ve had it for about 15 years I think.

goingatlast · 13/11/2018 21:57

Sorry to hijack the thread but I used a PPI claim company specifically because I didn't have any information about account numbers, etc. Got loads of emails from them saying they had contacted the various companies but needed account details in order to further investigate. This was the reason I used them - I DON'T HAVE ANY ACCOUNT NUMBERS! - got absolutely nothing back. Waste of time in my case.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 13/11/2018 22:06

I’ve just chucked my details through the contact form. Can’t hurt to try.

flowerpot1000000 · 14/11/2018 09:01

Who did Richards shops belong to?

EmmaStone · 14/11/2018 10:21

Thanks for this, I've just popped my details in too...

teachpeach · 14/11/2018 16:37

I used a company once and they came back with nothing . I KNEW that couldn’t be right which is why I decided to have a go on my own.

MyGuideJools · 14/11/2018 16:40

goingatlast I've had 2 PPI claims upheld and I had no account number for either, just the dates.
one of the cheques ran into double figures!

MyGuideJools · 14/11/2018 16:41

I also had a Debenhams card years ago wonder how we go about claiming from them?

gussiefox · 14/11/2018 17:07

Just use the MSE (money saving expert) website. Costs nothing. You can enter all your details online and then they send everything off to the relevant companies. I had no details of account numbers or dates. I am waiting on a Debenhams claim - Santander have written to me for further details - but my MBNA claim resulted in a very promptcheque for £2.5K.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 14/11/2018 17:50

MyGuide Debenhams was administered by GE so you need the Santander link from earlier in the thread.

Dontgiveamonkeys1350 · 14/11/2018 18:27

Don’t forget that u have to pay tax on what ever amount you win back

MyGuideJools · 14/11/2018 20:36

monkeys1350
How do we go about paying tax? How do we know how much to pay?

Dontgiveamonkeys1350 · 14/11/2018 21:28

I’m not sure exactly. And I’m sure that interest come into it as well somewhere.
Many sister is a lawyer and she told me if I got some I would have to pay.
I would google it to make sure. I think if you use one of the companies that do the searching for you they will tell you. But if you do it yourself it would be best to make sure.
