Anxiety attack..... help.

I have just started workin with a wellness team about my anxiety that has got worse over the last few months.

It has always centered around things I have to do. Driving somewhere I don’t know. Being in a crowd etc.

I have had one today that is not centered around doing anything. I have been up for ages as I’m a morning person not a night owl.

I was hanging out the washing... bang. Started to feel anxious. Heart beating fast. Hands started to shake. Anxious feeling just rose out of nowhere.

I’m not doing anything for the next couple of days. Not feeling worried about anything. Is this a normal thing with anxiety ?

No nothing. I Have a few medical problems that can be made worse by certain things. So we are trying this first. A reaction to certain things and ones I don’t know about can impact my life.

I found I didn't particularly have a trigger per se as it was an ongoing thing. If you're having therapy then it's weighing on your mind unconsciously I guess.

I would wake up and within minutes start to get the familiar tingling and warm rushes and banging heart and I hadn't even thought about anxiety but it was just there I guess.

So sorry though as it's horrible I know. Focus on something / sing or hum a song or whistle to distract your brain.

Hope the therapy sessions start to help soon op.

I am feeling the same as you OP, feeling anxious at bed and waking for no reason, hate it! Have a sore ear and am preoccupied with it and thinking all sorts! Hate this feeling, went to CBT and she suggested time for me and deep breathing

Dontgiveamonkeys1350 · 13/11/2018 10:08

I have been doing the breathing. It helped today.

I can’t help you with any suggestions but I really suffer with anxiety. I get sudden feelings of despair and my mood fluctuates horribly.

It’s awful and I don’t feel that relaxation or meditation or even careful deep breathing are the answer for me because I’m much too anxious and overwhelmed to do those things!

I hope you manage to feel better soon.
