Anyone up? Baby not sleeping

My dd is 6 months old and suddenly stopped sleeping at night. She used to sleep great, but now you get her to sleep, put her in bed and she flips straight over onto her tummy and she's wide awake again. The only thing that gets her to sleep once she's up again is to put her to sleep in her bouncer which means I get zero sleep because I darent sleep while she's sleeping in there

Im up, but in the US so its not that late here. What happens if you just leave her on her tummy?

Aftereights91 · 13/11/2018 01:09

She doesn't go back to sleep, she just stays propped up on her arms, it's like the second she's on her tummy she thinks it's playtime

Hi

If you left her/ignored her, she might get bored and go back to sleep, its probably the novelty for the minute. You just dont want to make her think that tummy time equals Mummy attention time or you will be up with her every 45 mins

The problem is that they can look so cute and you almost want to say hi etc

Skala123 · 13/11/2018 01:23

Mine used to do that and I rolled up towels and put them under the sheet next to them so they couldn't roll over. Worked a treat! Just make sure they are down the body away from heir head obviously.

In the US here also!

Also, keep the room really dark, so she doesnt have anything to look at.

I’m up because DS (2.5) has a cold and a cough and woke up half an hour ago. He’s too sniffly and coughy to get back off to sleep enough for me to go back to my own bed Sad

Like a PP, I used to wedge DS when he was tiny... he’d only sleep properly on his side for the first four or so months!

Aftereights91 · 13/11/2018 03:06

Well the baby slept for an hour and then the toddler got up because he doesn't feel well Hmm

I’m awake, we are on a couple of days away without the kids and I have my husband snoring at the side of me and I can hear the person in the next room snoring too! They are not even in sync 🙄

Bowerbird5 · 13/11/2018 03:18

I’m awake😳

DrWhy · 13/11/2018 03:26

Yep, I’m awake. Newborn has slept really well for the last 3 nights (now 5 days), stretches of 2-3 hours then a 20 min feed. I got over confident, started going out and helping with the toddler last night. Tonight she started cluster feeding at 8.30, I slept 11.30 until 1.30 and she’s been up again since - I am exhausted!
No idea for a solution for you OP sorry except a dark room and just ignoring her if she’s not upset.

Springersprung · 13/11/2018 03:35

Yep, I'm up. 4 month old, who had seemed to be getting the hang of bedtime, refused to settle until midnight and woke at 3 for a feed. Usually sleeps through. She is now sleeping on me, but eyes pop open as soon as any return to crib attempt is made, and the wailing starts. DH is lying next to me, snoring. Hmm

Watchingthetelly · 13/11/2018 04:43

They seem to get excited when they learn something new and want to practice it, even if it's the middle of the night. DS is currently cruising around his crib, perfecting this new trick... I'm ignoring it (as far as he knows) and keeping an eye on the monitor from the other room. Rolling over is grand, I'd leave your DD to it.

StarfishSandwich · 13/11/2018 04:49

I’m up! DS woke for a feed about an hour and 20 mins ago. He’s been asleep for a good 20 mins but he’s so warm and snuggly on me and I’m wide awake (he’s consistently sleeping 6 hours at the start of the night now so I feel great!) so I haven’t transferrred him into his cot 😬

Aftereights91 · 13/11/2018 06:19

So many of you were awake too, at least we were in it together Grin well they teamed up last night so I had a grand total of an hour's sleep. Zero the night before, so I think I'm legitimately running on fumes. DH is off work today and we were meant to be taking the toddler to soft play but I think I'll send him on his own and I'll have a nap
